At SHUDDHI NGO we are committed to making your support of charitable causes smooth, transparent and legally compliant. This policy explains the terms under which donations are accepted and processed through our website, and how exceptions are handled under the laws of India.
Made a mistake? Write to info@shuddhi.org or call +91-9654815105 within 7 days of your donation, quoting your payment ID.
1. Legal status of SHUDDHI
SHUDDHI is a tax-exempt non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860 in India, Registration No. S/2020/SDM/NW/2014. Contributions made through our website are donations to SHUDDHI.
2. How donations are used
When you donate to a campaign, you recommend that SHUDDHI pass your gift on to that cause. For partner-NGO and personal campaigns, 85% of each donation is credited to the beneficiary after verification; the rest covers payment-gateway charges, fundraiser commissions and SHUDDHI's Social Impact & Operations Fee (see How your donation is used). Donations to SHUDDHI's own programmes are used for those programmes.
Campaign funds are released to beneficiaries after KYC and compliance checks. While we honour donor recommendations wherever possible, final discretion and control over all donations rests with SHUDDHI, as Indian law requires. If the recommended organisation or person does not meet legal, tax-exemption or compliance requirements, or the recommendation cannot be followed for another legal or operational reason, the donation is used for a similar charitable purpose, which may include SHUDDHI's own verified programmes.
3. Conditions on donations
By donating you confirm that neither you nor any person or entity associated with you will receive, or has been promised, any material benefit in exchange, such as goods, services, event access, tuition payments or the fulfilment of a pledge or debt.
4. Refunds
Donations are normally final and non-refundable once processed, because they are put to work quickly for the causes you support. We will, however, refund a donation when:
- you were charged twice for the same donation, or charged a different amount than you chose;
- the payment was made without your authorisation (for example, a misused card);
- you donated the wrong amount by mistake and tell us within 7 days; or
- a campaign you donated to is cancelled or removed before its funds are released. We will refund you or, with your agreement, move your donation to a similar cause.
Other requests made within 7 days are reviewed case by case, but a refund cannot be guaranteed.
5. How refunds are made
- Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Razorpay, usually within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
- Bank transfers and cheques are refunded to the account they came from.
- If an 80G receipt was issued, it is cancelled and the donation is excluded from our Form 10BD statement. Please do not claim a tax deduction for a refunded donation.
- Any referral commission or campaign credit linked to a refunded donation is reversed.
6. Monthly donations and memberships
You can cancel a monthly donation at any time by writing to us; future payments stop immediately. Lifetime membership contributions are not refundable after the membership certificate is issued, except in the cases listed in section 4.
7. Matching grants
SHUDDHI does not guarantee the availability or payment of matching grants for donations made through pages labelled “matching grant eligible”. Such grants are administered solely at the discretion of the third-party organiser or partner, and SHUDDHI is not liable for claims or disputes about them.
